As far as different types [of ki haps], I've heard them all, and they all have their uses:

• the standard, uninteresting yell (gets you breathing, lets the other guy know you're there)
• the murderous war shriek (scare children!)
• the strangled gag (disorients opponent, who then asks if you are okay. Kick them in the head)
• the Dog Whistle (disarm opponent with an impossibly high screech. Whilst they are holding their head in pain, padachagi them)
• the Homer (my favorite, an impeccably cheerful 'whoo-hoo!' every time one kicks)
